Ingredients

- 2 white fish filets
- 3 slices of bread, crumbled into bread crumbs
- 1 beaten egg
- Small bag of tortilla chips
- 1 tbsp parsley
- Rind and juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
(Chips)
- 2 Yukon gold potatoes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Directions
For the fish:
- Slice filets, if needed, to fit in your air fryer.
- Sprinkle filets with salt, pepper, parsley, and lemon juice.
- In a food processor or blender, combine bread crumbs with more salt and pepper if desired, and add tortilla chips.
- Dip filets in egg, then dip again in bread crumb mixture.
- Set air fryer to 180 degrees Celsius/356 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Fry fish for 15 minutes in a single layer in your air fryer’s baking tray.
For the chips:
- Wash and peel potatoes, then cut into fries. Alternately, you can purchase pre-cut, oil-free fries to start with.
- Drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Set air fryer to 180 degrees Celsius/356 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook chips for 3 minutes, then toss; cook for 5 minutes, then toss again.
- Turn fryer to 200 degrees Celsius/392 degrees Fahrenheit and cook chips for 5 minutes more.
Notes
- If you have a separate grill tray insert for your air fryer’s baking pan, you can prepare the fish and chips at the same time.
- To do this, cook the chips in the baking tray and prepare the fish on the grill insert.
- Note that you will need to remove the fish before increasing the chips’ temperature for the last 5 minutes.
Fried Tofu
Fried tofu is an excellent addition to just about any Asian-style dish. Use it as a substitute for meat in anything you can imagine! This fried tofu recipe is the perfect way to improve on the healthy qualities of tofu without cutting back on flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- ¼ cup corn meal
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 block firm tofu
Directions
- Firmly wrap tofu in paper towels and set onto a plate. Weigh tofu with another plate to press for 15 minutes and drain.
- When tofu has been drained well, cut into cubes.
- In a small bowl, combine corn meal and corn starch.
- Toss tofu in coating, then drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Place tofu into the cooking basket of your air fryer in a single layer.
- Heat air fryer to 185 degrees Celsius/365 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook tofu for 6 minutes, then turn with a pair of tongs for even cooking.
- Cook for 6 minutes more.
Notes
- If you have a grill tray insert for your air fryer, this tofu may cook more evenly without having to be turned.
- If you like more seasoned tofu, add spices of your choice (such as ginger or pepper) to your tofu coating before dipping it.
